6 steps to the perfect cut of your glass

STEP 1

When first use, mount the mounting bracket and place it in the desired position with the adjustment screws.

STEP 2

Remove the labels on the desired interface. Gently turn the bottle 360° once and apply light pressure to create a straight cutting edge.

STEP 3

Put the 2 rubber rings with approx. 1 cm distance from each other around the cutting edge.

STEP 4

Pour over the cutting edge for approx. 30-40 seconds with boiling water. Turn the bottle. Alternatively, you can also dip the bottle in a hot water bath.

STEP 5

Pour over the cutting edge immediately for approx. 30-40 seconds with cold water. Alternatively, you can also dip the bottle in a cold water bath. Repeat step 4 and 5 alternately until the glass jumps.

STEP 6

Moisten the sandpaper with a little water. Smooth the edges with sandpaper. Make sure that the sandpaper remains moist so that no glass dust is created.

FAQ:

Q1: Why does the bottle not shatter?

You may have not done step 4 and 5 long enough or the water was not hot/cold enough. You may have been waiting too long between step 4 and 5. The steps must be done immediately one by one.

Q2: Why does the bottle break straight at the cutting edge?

Does the cut edge run over the label? Remove it as the label may cause an odd breakage.

Q3: Do I have to turn the bottle 360° several times so that the cut is deep enough?

No, a 360° rotation is enough to create a cutting edge. If you continue to turn, there is a risk that the cut is no longer straight. The cut is only used to create a predetermined breaking point for the hot/cold water bath. However, with very thick bottles, a further twist may be required.

Q4: What dimensions of a bottle is the glass cutter best suited for?

The round bottle should be approx. 4-10 cm in diameter. The round bottle should have a height of approx. 10-40 cm. The round bottle should have a thickness of 2-3 mm.
