Globus CEO Franco Savastano eröffnet neuen Filiale in St. Gallen am Multertor

„Ribbon Cut“ at Globus St. Gallen: In the presence of Mayor Maria Pappa, Franco Savastano, CEO of Globus, Vittorio Radice, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Globus, and Peter Kriemler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wildegg Immobilien, open the new Globus department store. After extensive renovations, Globus has moved into the former embroidery exchange at Multertor. In addition to Fashion, Home & Lifestyle, Beauty, and Kids, there is also the unique Delicatessa. The restaurant „Multertor“ on the ground floor, under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Tobias Funke, as well as Oliver Fahr’s „Balik Kitchen,“ complete the offering.

This morning, Globus opened its doors at a prominent location at Multertor after extensive renovations. In a solemn ceremony, Mayor Maria Pappa, Franco Savastano, Vittorio Radice, and Peter Kriemler officially cut the ribbon and inaugurated the department store at 9 am. At the new location, Globus presents over 2,000 brands and promises customers a touch of luxury and an attractive shopping experience.

The building at Multertor was built in 1891 for the purpose of trading textiles at this central location. The architecture is impressive. Today, the building marks the important entrance to the Old Town as well as the pedestrian zone. With today’s handover to Globus, this building is once again being used for its original purpose. Although it is no longer a professional exchange for embroidery, Globus still embodies the proximity to textiles and fashion as a leading company in Swiss retail. „The outlook for a long-term positioning of Globus at this location forms an important foundation for an attractive city center and a lively atmosphere for the population. The renovation of the building and the establishment of the functions necessary for operating a department store were only possible with the great dedication of talented craftsmen in our city and surrounding area. The cooperation with the authorities was also intensive and productive,“ says Peter Kriemler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wildegg Immobilien AG St. Gallen.

Currently, customers can expect the most beautiful styles for late summer in the fashion departments – from trendy brands to young, up-and-coming labels and timeless elegance. A visit is worthwhile, not least because of the extensive shoe and accessories department, as well as the impressive beauty area. Home & Lifestyle inspires with selected interior design and decorative elements that enhance every home. On the top floor, you will find a wide range of children’s products. The spacious delicatessen department, as well as the Balik Kitchen on the lower level and a restaurant on the ground floor, complete the offering. The restaurant with a café and bar has its own entrance and is open seven days a week from 7 am to midnight. Sternekoch Tobias Funke delights his guests at the Globus-owned restaurant „Multertor“ with reinterpretations of traditional dishes from our mothers‘ kitchens. „We want to inspire guests and evoke emotions. With typical dishes that our mothers cooked for us and that have shaped us,“ explains Tobias Funke.

„We are very pleased to be able to offer our customers an attractive shopping experience that leaves nothing to be desired after the extensive renovation in the historic Multertor building – and that we were able to win renowned chef Tobias Funke for our restaurant on the ground floor,“ says Franco Savastano, CEO of Globus.
