Berlin – Otto Fricke, the budgetary spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, is calling for Bavaria to participate in guarantees for Siemens Energy: „The Bavarian state government should also participate in possible state aid,“ Fricke told the „Rheinische Post“ (Tuesday edition). „After all, Siemens has benefited from the IPO of Energy and has a responsibility.“
Siemens and Siemens Energy are based in Munich. At the same time, the FDP budget expert reiterated his demand that the parent company Siemens AG must also participate: „There have been several entrepreneurial mistakes at Siemens Energy. State aid, including guarantees, can only be provided if Siemens, as a major shareholder of Siemens Energy, participates – and if the federal government and the company can demonstrate that it is not about enforcing political ideas, but about the long-term safeguarding of future-oriented jobs.“
